My Lord Bishop.

God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform! Dennis Memorial Grammar School, the cradle of secondary and high school education East of the Niger and a landmark CMS institution in West Africa is 100years old. We are filled with immense gratitude to God for the momentous occasion of the centenary celebration of this great beacon of academic excellence, moral uprightness and social responsibility that has contributed significantly to the development of our nation. As we celebrate the centenary of this great institution, we are reminded of the monumental labours of the founders - the CMS whose vision, determination and sacrifice laid the foundation of what we see today. Their wisdom and foresight built not just a school but a legacy; one that continues to illuminate the path for generations. Dennis Memorial Grammar School is not just a school; she has become an enigma, a place where excellence is not a mere aspiration but a way of life, where the nobility of character is forged, where integrity, discipline, innovation and ambition are not just taught but lived. We commend and express our deepest appreciation to the Management Board, Staff and Students who over the years have persevered and promoted the school in a positive light. We also acknowledge the unwavering commitment of the present Management Board, Principal, Staff and Students who through their staunch diligence keep the flag flying higher. The Old Boys Association in all her hierarchy has been a crucial pillar, standing as testaments to the enduring bond formed within the school walls. Their unwavering support, dedication, and contributions have ensured that the school's legacy is not just preserved but continually strengthened; this embodies the very spirit of this institution-a spirit that transcends time. As We celebrate the glorious past that has produced many accolades, professionals, porsoMalitiog, aendomia and impacted our nation and works at large; let us reflect as we look forward to the brighter future, the challenges and emerging dynamics of our time knowing that much work lies ahead.

Celebrating Hundred(100)Years Of Light.

I count it one of my great blessings in life to have attended the Grammer School and to have been bestowed the glorious privilege of serving for over a decade as the chairman of the school management board. I have not held any public post that has surpassed this honour. Indeed, it was the only office that I so passionately coverted and I sincerely thank our lord Bishop for this favour. I returned to my Alma mater with an unweavering dream to restore it. Other schools might be first among equals, but DMGS has no equal. It was divinely inspired and guided- otherwise can anyone explain the recovery in Ireland of the manuscript the first translation of the bible to ibo language that was lost in the high seas. Late archdeacon denis choose the preservation of the manuscript over his own life. Today, DMGS is firmly astride its glory, we proudly celebrate the hundred years of light, of excellence, intergrity and service in all fields of endevour. We remain undaunted. DENGRAM will always challenge and inspire us. Her hopes remain our desires today and always, even unto the second centenary and forever as God works his purpose. Our restoration has been phenomenal especially in the place of academics, student, discipline and infrastructure. It has been a collective work involving high dedication and commitment from members of the board, the staff and students. Of all the old boys association in the country, our old boys are most passionate and dedicated to their alma mater. Let me on behalf of all of us extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to our old boys who are the chief architect of the phenomenal transformation of the physical infrastructure of the school. Dengramites & Friends of DMGS,DMGS Centenary is one of the most complex programmes in the history of DMGS. The range of activities is vast. Most importantly, it is a 1-in-100 years opportunity to set the future direction of DMGS. The DMGS Centenary Committee is listening carefully to Dengramites worldwide who are engaging in the intellectual discourse on the strategic future of DMGS. We are taking note of the exciting ideas being generated, The core Centenary project of the Centenary Building with an Auditorium will be the centrepiece in the canvas of infrastructural investment required for the upgrading of the school premises based on making progress with, and changes to, the DMGS masterplan. The DMGS Centenary Committee is the Executive agency tasked with turning the vision to reality; crafting the ideas into strategies; producing an operational plan; and ultimately delivering the Centenary programme. This is reflected in the roles and responsibilities of the functionaries. We have a team with a broad range of skills to deliver on the hopes of the DMGS family and it is my honour to introduce them.
